My parents came for a visit last week to spend some time with the twins. The weather was great and my mom was able to go out for a ski in the mountains and Janet was able to go for a small run and take the dogs for walks while grandma and grandpa watched the babies.
Grandma spent lots of time hanging out with the babies and helping Eileen practice sitting up.
Grandma made us delicious dinners including a calf moose stew that was very lightly salted so that the babies could eat it and they LOVED it. They ate it for five days in a row and when it finally ran out it was clear they were disappointed in the food we had to offer them. The babies decided to hold their poops in for a few days and when a few days worth of moose stew and breast milk finally made its way out they were probably the most heinous poops to date! They were also the poops that triggered us to start using diaper liners in our cloth diapers.
Dad helped out around the house and kept the kitchen clean and helped me turn the head from Davis’ whitetail buck into a euro mount.
On Saturday Davis came over and joined us for a feast from our favourite Indian restaurant.
We also had a fire in the fireplace and decorated our Christmas tree and the rest of the house together.
After my parents went home Eileen was noticeably sad for a whole day.
So adorable!
Great pics Kyle!! Sounds like you all had a great time.. Loved your “poop” commentary!!! I am impressed that you are still using cloth diapers!! Much better for the environment but I sure couldn’t do it!
Yeah, better for the environment and substantially cheaper. They are certainly more work but it’s been pretty manageable up until the point the twins started getting serious about solid food and now that they have, the cloth diapers are testing my dedication a bit. I’m sure it will be fine once we make it through this transition period.
What great pictures Kyle! Everyone looks so happy 🙂
