This post is on time! Eileen and Ewan are 11 months old today.
Ewan continues his mobility training. He pulls himself up on every ledge he comes across. He can walk holding on to furniture. This has lead to a fair amount of tumbling and falling on his head ☹️. Ewan has discovered how to open the wipes container, and it’s his new favourite thing. He also loves taking everything off the shelf. When I start to tidy things up and put them back he comes racing over to pull it all off again.
Eileen is very close to crawling. She goes into table top and rocks back and forth. She is very skilled at backward crawling, rolling and turning around. Just this week she learned how to go from cobra to sitting. Eileen can stay standing if she is holding on to the crib for support, but she needs someone to lift her into position.

I had a massage at a place that offers free child care. Ewan immediately crawled under a cloth teepee filled with pillows and fleece blankets and went to sleep for the duration of my massage. I was shocked he didn’t want to crawl around and explore.

This week at home Ewan actually stayed still for more than 5 minutes in a comfy spot on the couch with Aunt Diana.

Attending their first Oscar viewing party, dressed to impress!

They are learning to drink out of sippy cups and love the taste of water.
They love to move their bodies in what looks like dancing. Eileen moves her head back and forth (which she’s been doing for a couple months now). As soon as music comes on they both move around. Ewan just this week started to move his head back and forth.
They are both very interested in the books I read them. Ewan has great coordination and interest in balls. He will follow the ball with his eyes when we are playing.
Both babies were very sick this month, which led to a couple sleepless nights. Trouble breathing with snotty noses and a little bit of a fever.

Winter is still here, and Ewan discovered he could see his breath when he breathed heavily out of his mouth. It was so cute watching him!
We have attended a twin play group 3 times this month. Ewan is fearless, he crawls around exploring everything. He crawls through toddlers legs and under chairs. I am obviously following him and leaving Eileen alone. And she happily plays along side the other babies without us, so in a sense she is fearless too.
Ewan loves tomatoes, he’s always stealing the tomatoes off Eileen’s tray.
Eileen has discovered a new tone/pitch of squealing, it’s all she talks about, haha!
Ewan has so many facial expressions and is able to raise one eyebrow (this has been going on for 4 or 5 months- just not sure if I’ve mentioned it).
Eileen likes to examine the hardware on the cribs and the door hinges with her pointer finger. She just sits there touching the screws. Eileen is very detail oriented, she will explore gains in the hardwood with her pointer finger for minutes. I’ve noticed Eileen is a lot fussier these days. I am definitely seeing some personality traits developing with both Eileen and Ewan.
Today both Ewan and Eileen successfully put in and removed a toy from a basket. Now we are working on waving hello and goodbye ?

Wow, they
are growing so fast. Can’t wait to see them soon 🙂
