Ewan pulled himself up to standing last night for the first time

This afternoon the babies had their first bath in the big tub.
Ewan spent the majority of the time splashing the water with his right hand.
Ewan’s first injury
Last night Ewan face planted while
crawling around. This is his first injury. So far he doesn’t seem bothered by the injury and it hasn’t affected nursing or eating.
9 months!
Eggs, Halibut and Lunch
Ewan and Eileen had eggs and halibut yesterday. They did not like the taste of either. Ewan reluctantly ate it but Eileen flat out refused. As soon as it touched her lips she had a big dramatic reaction spitting, scrunching her face and shivering! She is definitely a pickier eater than Ewan.
Their eating skills are improving. They are handling bigger chunks of food. They’ve been feasting on home made sourdough bread dipped in soup for lunch. We just added lunch time meals this week.
Winter Walk
We went outside today and braved the cold. We only went for a short 20 minute walk around the block, Eileen was not happy. I think she didn’t like not being able to suck on her fingers haha!
Ewan and Eileen are Babbling
Last night Eileen and Ewan started intentionally babbling to each other.
They did it again twice today. I am sure they are having a secret conversation about how great their moms is… lol!
Babies First Swim
Yesterday the babies went swimming for their first time! My friend has a pool in her apartment building, so it was really low key and casual. Both Eileen and Ewan remained very calm and unfazed by the whole experience. They kicked their legs and splashed their arms around. They didn’t smile a whole lot, but I think they were just taking in the experience. We can’t wait to go again!
Ewan is Officially Crawling!
Ewan has been fairly mobile for the past month or so but mostly through pushing himself backwards and rolling but this past weekend Ewan crawled forward for his first time at our friends Mel and Scott’s house in Jaffray BC on January 13th. Since then he has been crawling forward every time he’s on the ground. He sees something he wants and he goes for it! He is incredibly coordinated in his movements.

The Twins First Christmas and Winter Diving!
Ewan and Eileen enjoyed their first Christmas. Actual Christmas day was spent on Vancouver Island with my family, but we got some photos of Eileen and Ewan opening gifts at our house back in Calgary. Kyle carried on his family’s tradition of preparing a venison tourtière for Christmas Eve dinner, and Grandma Shivas made an Acadian Chicken Fricot. Christmas Day was full of family, fun and good food. There were 14 of us at Christmas family dinner. We had a great time!
